Schedule . Location . Food . Registration

San Juan boasts beautiful beaches, a laid back community, and our peaceful campsite just outside of Roche Harbor. If you have the time, there is plenty to do and see around the island.  Whether you take a few hours off to poke around or are able to spend a few more days, you can easily fill your time going to parks, cedar forests, museums, restaurants, and if you're lucky, you might even sight one of the resident orca whales!

You will want to check the Ferry Schedules and plan your travels ahead.  We don't want you to miss any of the fun!  The ferries get a lot of traffic this time of year, so we highly encourage carpooling and recommend that you try to board a boat in the early morning if at all possible to avoid the crowds. You should plan to arrive at the ferry terminal at least 2 hours before your boat departs.  Ferry tickets are round trip- you will not have to pay on your return ride.  We will have a limited number of discounted tickets available for advance purchase.

From Seattle, Bellingham, or Vancouver

From I-5, (Hwy 99 if coming from Vancouver) take Exit 230 and follow Highway 20 West to Anacortes.  Once you are in Anacortes, take a left on 12th Street (Safeway will be on the right), then follow the signs to the ferry terminal and ticketing booths.

Ferry unloads cars onto Front St. Follow the traffic left onto Spring St.  Take a right onto 2nd St., and at the second stop sign turn right onto Tucker Ave. That becomes Roche Harbor Rd., which you should follow for about 9 miles or so.  Turn left into driveway of 7997 Roche Harbor Rd.  If you pass Westcott Bay Dr. you've gone about 500 feet too far.  Don't use GoogleMaps- it will take you to the wrong place!

Kenmore Air also provides direct flights by land and seaplane daily from Lake Union, Lake Washington, and Boeing Field/King County Airport.  They provide free shuttle service between SeaTac and their terminals.  If you decide to fly, you may forward us your itinerary and we will arrange to pick you up at the island airport. www.kenmoreair.com/ or 1-800-543-9595

From Victoria

From downtown Victoria, B.C. drive along Blanshard Street (which becomes Highway 17). Drive approximately 17 miles to the McTavish turnoff (across from the airport). Turn right on McTavish, proceed one block, and turn left onto Lochside. Drive north along the sea shore to Ocean Avenue (across from the Information Center). Turn right on Ocean Avenue to the terminal entrance. Signs are posted from the Highway 17 turnoff to the terminal entrance.

Please check the ferry schedule in advance: at this time, there is only one boat scheduled each day during the workshop weekend.  You are welcome on the campsite in the days before and after the the workshop if it is more convenient.
