"Sohoyini" translates literally as 'one heart' in the Dagbani language of the Dagombas in Northern Ghana. We created Sohoyini with the hopes of uniting cultures and celebrating our diversity through the beautiful dance and music of West Africa. Our performance group is a mixture of not only Ghanaian, but other traditions. Embracing the music and dance of countries from Guinea, to Zimbabwe, to the United States, we celebrate not only our roots, but the branches of our new global culture.
